Dip Base

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Vegetables

  • 1 can (14 ounces) water-packed artichoke hearts, rinsed, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

Topping

  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

To Serve

  • Assorted crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the dip evenly.
  2. Mix base ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, minced garlic, dried basil, garlic salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add vegetables: Stir in the chopped artichoke hearts and the thawed, squeezed-dry spinach into the dip base mixture, ensuring an even distribution throughout.
  4. Prepare for baking: Transfer the mixture to a greased 9-inch pie plate or baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Add cheese topping: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake the dip: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes until the dip is bubbly and the edges begin to brown lightly.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving with an assortment of crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure to squeeze excess water from the spinach to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  • You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • This dip can be prepared a day ahead and baked just before serving.
  • For a spicier twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese and mozzarella to reduce fat content if desired.
