These Cajun garlic butter steak bites are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish perfect for a quick and delicious meal. Tender pieces of steak are seasoned with a blend of spices, seared to perfection, and then tossed in a garlic butter sauce that enhances the rich flavors. Serve these steak bites as a hearty appetizer or as a main course with your favorite sides.

Seasoning Blend:

  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme

Other Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs. steak (strip steak, sirloin, ribeye, etc.)
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic (finely minced or grated)
  • Minced fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare: Slice steak into roughly 2″ pieces and set aside in a mixing bowl.
  2. Season: In a small bowl, combine seasoning blend ingredients, then add to the mixing bowl with the steak bites and toss to combine well.
  3. Preheat skillet: Heat a large heavy-bottomed skillet over MED HIGH heat until wisps of smoke appear.
  4. Sear (in batches): Add 1 Tbsp of vegetable oil to the hot skillet and sear the steak bites for 2 minutes on each side until well browned. Repeat with the remaining steak bites.
  5. Make garlic butter: Reduce heat to MED LOW, add butter to the skillet, then melt and sauté garlic for about 30 seconds.
  6. Combine and serve: Turn off the heat, return the steak bites to the skillet, and toss well in the garlic butter. Serve hot, garnished with minced parsley.
