Ingredients

Scale

Waffle Batter

  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor, about 15.25 oz)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Waffle Iron: Plug in and preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions for best performance and even cooking.
  2. Prepare Batter: In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the eggs, cake mix, milk, and oil. Beat on medium speed for 30 seconds, then increase to high speed for one minute until the batter is fully combined and smooth.
  3. Grease Waffle Iron: Spray the hot waffle iron generously with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy waffle removal.
  4. Cook Waffles: Pour measured batter onto the waffle iron (about 1/2 cup per waffle for Belgian waffle irons or 1 1/2 tablespoons per Mickey waffle). Close the lid and cook until the waffle iron indicates the waffles are done, usually 3-5 minutes depending on your appliance.
  5. Remove and Keep Warm: Carefully remove cooked waffles to avoid burns and place on a cookie sheet. If not serving immediately, keep them warm in a preheated oven at 200°F until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of cake mix depending on your preference to customize the taste.
  • If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can mix all ingredients by hand with a whisk until smooth.
  • For crispier waffles, cook a bit longer or reheat them in a toaster or oven before serving.
  • Waffles can be frozen after cooking and reheated later in a toaster for a quick breakfast.
  • Adjust the batter amount based on the size and style of your waffle iron to avoid overflow or underfilled waffles.
