Chicken:
- 1 ½ lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Hungarian sweet paprika
Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Hungarian sweet paprika
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 3/4 cup full-fat sour cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Prepare Chicken: In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with flour and paprika.
- Cook Chicken: Brown the chicken in butter until cooked through; set aside.
- Make Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté onions, garlic, then add flour and paprika. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Finish Dish: Reduce heat, stir in sour cream, return chicken to skillet, and heat through. Garnish with parsley before serving.
