Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 10 medjool dates
  • 23 tbsp peanut butter
  • 23 tbsp crushed peanuts
  • 150g melted dark chocolate
  • Sea salt to top (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dates: Make a cut in each medjool date with a knife and carefully remove and discard the pits to create a cavity for the filling.
  2. Fill with Peanut Butter: Add a small spoonful of peanut butter into the center of each pitted date, ensuring not to overfill so the date can still close properly.
  3. Add Crushed Peanuts and Close: Sprinkle each filled date with crushed peanuts, then gently press the dates with your hands to slightly close them around the filling.
  4. Dip in Chocolate: Using a toothpick to hold each date, dip it into the melted dark chocolate until fully coated. Transfer the coated dates to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with extra crushed peanuts and a pinch of sea salt if desired.
  5. Chill to Set: Place the tray of chocolate-covered dates in the refrigerator or freezer for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and set perfectly.

Notes

  • Use medjool dates for their natural softness and sweetness which complement the peanut butter filling.
  • Dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content is preferable for balance between sweetness and richness.
  • You can substitute crushed peanuts with chopped almonds or pecans for a different crunch.
  • Store the finished Date Snickers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • To speed up the setting process, freezing is recommended but be sure not to leave them too long to avoid dryness.
