This Taco Lasagna recipe combines the flavors of traditional tacos in a layered casserole dish. With seasoned ground beef, beans, salsa, and cheese, it’s a delicious twist on a classic favorite.

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water (more as needed)
  • 1 can green chilies (optional)
  • 1 can black beans, drained

Layering:

  • 12 flour tortillas (6-inch)
  • 24 ounces salsa
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups shredded Mexican Cheese Blend

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prep dish: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ground beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Set aside.
  3. Saute onions and garlic: In the same skillet, saute onions and garlic until soft.
  4. Combine ingredients: Add cooked beef, taco seasoning, chilies, and beans. Simmer with water.
  5. Layer the lasagna: Assemble layers of tortillas, salsa, beef mixture, sour cream, and cheese in the baking dish.
  6. Bake: Bake for 30-40 minutes until cheese is melted and browned.

Notes

  • You can customize this dish by adding your favorite taco toppings like diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, or jalapenos.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
