These Condensed Milk Bread Rolls are incredibly soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. They are perfect for breakfast or as a snack with your favorite spread. The addition of condensed milk gives them a delightful richness that makes them truly irresistible.

Dough:

  • 2/3 cups lukewarm Milk
  • 2 tsp Dried active yeast
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp Butter, softened (salted)

For Brushing:

  • 1.5 tbsp Milk
  • Butter for brushing on top of baked rolls

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: Combine lukewarm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, condensed milk, and butter. Add the activated yeast and mix until a dough forms. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Knead the Dough: Knead the dough in the stand mixer for 10-12 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Rise the Dough: Let the dough double in size for about 60 minutes in a warm place.
  5. Shape and Proof: Divide the dough, shape into rolls, and let them proof for 30-45 minutes.
  6. Bake: Brush the rolls with milk and bake at 200°C for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Finish: Brush the hot rolls with butter for a soft crust. Serve warm.

  • You can customize these rolls by adding raisins or nuts to the dough for extra flavor and texture.
  • Ensure the yeast is active for a good rise; if the mixture doesn’t froth, start again with fresh yeast.
