  • 1½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together your chosen marinade ingredients thoroughly to combine all the flavors.
  2. Marinate Salmon: Place the salmon fillet in a glass container or resealable bag, then pour the marinade evenly over the fillet, ensuring it is well-coated.
  3. Refrigerate: Seal the container or bag and marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours; for deeper flavor, you can marinate overnight.
  4. Choose Cooking Method: Select your preferred cooking method based on available equipment and desired texture: baking, pan frying, grilling, or air frying.
  5. Oven Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the marinated salmon on a baking sheet skin-side down, cover with foil, and bake for 12 to 20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Pan Fry: Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the salmon skin-side up for 2 to 3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until it is cooked through.
  7. Grill: Preheat the grill to medium heat. Place the salmon skin-side up on the grill and cook for 5 minutes, then flip and grill until fully cooked and flaky.
  8. Air Fry: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Place the salmon skin-side down in the basket and air fry for 10 to 20 minutes depending on thickness and desired doneness.

Notes

  • Marinate salmon for at least 1 hour for best flavor penetration but avoid exceeding 24 hours to prevent texture breakdown from the acidic components.
  • Adjust salt and spices in the marinade according to your dietary preferences or restrictions.
  • Use a food thermometer to ensure the salmon reaches a safe internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • For air frying, consider flipping the salmon halfway through if your air fryer cooks unevenly.
  • The olive oil in marinades helps keep the salmon moist during cooking and enhances flavor absorption.
  • These marinades work well with salmon fillets of various sizes; adjust cooking times accordingly.
