Cake:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs

Buttercream Icing:

  • 2 sticks butter (at room temperature)
  • 4 teaspoons butter flavoring (can use clear vanilla extract instead)
  • 6 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 48 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. For Birthday Cake

    Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare cake pans. Cream sugar and butter. Combine dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately. Mix all together. Optional: add sprinkles. Bake until done.

  2. Buttercream Icing

    Cream butter and sugar. Add flavoring and milk. Beat until smooth. Ice the cooled cake and enjoy!
