Meatloaf:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 large onions (thinly sliced)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

French Onion Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese (grated)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Caramelize Onions: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet. Cook onions until caramelized, then add garlic. Set aside.
  2. Prepare Meatloaf: Mix beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and half of caramelized onions. Shape into a loaf.
