Ingredients

Ground Beef:

1 pound

Taco Seasoning:

1 packet

Water:

1/2 cup

Refried Beans:

1 can (16 oz)

Flour Tortillas:

6-8 large

Diced Tomatoes:

1 can (16 oz), drained

Diced Green Chilies:

1 can (4 oz), drained

Mexican Blend Cheese:

2 cups shredded

Sour Cream and Jalapeños:

For serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Beef: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain excess grease. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer until coated.
  2. Layer the Base: Spread refried beans in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Place a layer of tortillas on top.
  3. Build the Layers: Add half of beef, tomatoes, chilies, and a third of cheese. Repeat layers once.
  4. Top and Bake: Add final layer of tortillas and remaining cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve with sour cream and jalapeños.
