Instructions

  1. Sauté Mushrooms: Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes until they are browned and tender. Then add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add Creamy Ingredients: Lower the heat to low. Add softened cream cheese and sour cream to the skillet and stir continuously until the mixture is melted together and creamy.
  3. Incorporate Cheeses: Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella cheese along with all of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the dip is smooth and evenly combined.
  4. Bake Dip: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the dip. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the dip is bubbling and the cheese on top is golden and slightly crispy.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with freshly chopped thyme or parsley, and serve hot alongside bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks for dipping.
