Cookie Dough
- ¼ cup butter or margarine, softened
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 to 3 tablespoons water or milk
Coating
- 12 ounces almond bark (white chocolate or vanilla flavor)
- Mix Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter or margarine, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and well blended. Gradually add the flour and stir until the mixture resembles a crumbly dough.
- Adjust Texture: Slowly add 1 to 3 tablespoons of water or milk, a little at a time, mixing until the dough holds together firmly but is not sticky, allowing you to form balls easily.
- Shape Dough Balls: Divide the dough evenly and roll it into 24 small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.
- Melt Almond Bark: Break the almond bark into smaller pieces and melt it in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until it is smooth and fully melted.
- Coat the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each dough ball into the melted almond bark, coating evenly. Allow excess coating to drip off, then place the coated truffles back on the parchment-lined surface.
- Set and Harden: Let the coated truffles sit at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to harden completely.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once set, enjoy these sweet and creamy sugar cookie dough truffles as a delicious snack or dessert treat.
Notes
- Ensure the butter is softened, not melted, for the best dough texture.
- Adjust the amount of water or milk carefully to avoid making the dough too sticky.
- You can substitute almond bark with white chocolate chips if preferred.
- Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Optionally, decorate with sprinkles or drizzle with colored chocolate for festive occasions.
