- 2 ribeye steaks, about 8 oz each (or sirloin)
- 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti or egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain the noodles, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta water. Set the noodles aside.
- Season and cook the steaks: Pat the ribeye steaks dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting cooking time as preferred. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. After resting, slice the steaks thinly against the grain.
- Cook the shrimp: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and a little paprika. Cook the shrimp 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- Make the garlic sauce and toss noodles: In a clean skillet or large pan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce (if using), brown sugar, and chicken broth or reserved pasta water. Add the noodles to the sauce and toss well until thoroughly coated. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions, and add a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.
