Ingredients

Scale

French Fry Seasoning:

  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (like McCormick’s)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (do not use garlic salt)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (do not use onion salt)

Nacho Cheese Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco jalapeño sauce (or juice from a jar of jalapeño slices for nachos)

Other Ingredients:

  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 pound Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Fast Food Fries (frozen)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the French Fry Seasoning: If you have a spice grinder, use it to process the spices for the french fry seasoning into a finer powder. If you don’t have a spice grinder, combine the spices in a small bowl and mix well. Store the spice blend in a saltshaker or another shaker. Leftovers can be used for tacos or another batch of fries.
  2. Make the Nacho Cheese Sauce: Combine all the ingredients for the Taco Bell nacho cheese sauce in a small pot and heat on low until the cheese melts. Stir to combine.
  3. Fry the Fries: Fill a large pot with vegetable oil to a depth of 4 inches. Heat the oil to 350°F. Fry the fries for 6 to 8 minutes or until crispy. Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a wire rack resting on a baking sheet.
  4. Season and Serve: Sprinkle the fries liberally with the seasoning blend and serve with a small bowl of nacho cheese sauce.
