Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Make dough: Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast. Add warm milk, water, butter. Knead 8-10 mins. Let rise 1 hour.
  2. Prepare filling: Sauté onion in oil, add garlic, tomato paste, spices. Stir in chicken, hot sauce. Remove from heat, mix in cream cheese and mozzarella.
  3. Assemble buns: Divide dough, flatten, add filling, seal. Place on tray.
  4. Bake: Brush with egg wash. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18-20 mins until golden.
