  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomato, drained
  • 12 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ½1 cup pasta water
  • 16 ounces thin spaghetti or angel hair
  • ½ cup basil, chopped
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Follow the package instructions to cook the pasta.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic: In a large pan over medium-low heat, heat olive oil. Add onions, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and vinegar: Stir in tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. Cook until slightly reduced, about 5-8 minutes.
  4. Combine pasta and sauce: Add ½ cup pasta water to the tomatoes. Drain pasta and mix it with the tomato sauce, basil, and parmesan cheese. Toss well to combine.
